Did You Know...
that JMI’s parent company, AMI, has been dedicated to turning children’s lives around since 1969.
It began in Florida when, at the suggestion of Judge Frank Orlando, a businessman named Bob Rosof took on the task of helping some young boys who were wards of the court. Mr. Rosof put the troubled young boys to work on his marine research vessel.
The progress that the children made through this partnership, and the
enthusiasm of the vessel’s crew, resulted in Judge Orlando referring more
and more youngsters to the research vessel. Over the years, AMI has
opened many schools, including facilities in Jacksonville.
The first Jacksonville campus opened its doors in 1973 – 32 years
ago! Since that time, thousands of troubled teens have turned
their lives around to become law-abiding, productive citizens
through JMI’s proven methods, which include academics, vocational
training, marine education, and behavioral modification programs.
